The short version

  • We collect what the directory needs: your account, your startup profile, and what you do on the site.
  • Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. Our analytics set no cookie and store no IP address.
  • We never sell your information. Partners get a random click reference, not your email or profile.
  • You can see, correct, export or delete your information — email us.

1. Who we are

QuxPerks is operated by QuxKit Inc., of Dallas, Tx, which is responsible for the personal information described here. Contact us about privacy at [email protected].

2. What we collect, and why

We collect only what the Service needs. You give us most of it; some is recorded as you use the site.

Site analyticsPages viewed, referrer, campaign tags, browser, operating system, device type, language and country. The visitor identifier is a one-way hash of the page's site, your IP address and browser, salted with a secret that changes every month and is then deleted. Your IP address is not stored, no cookie is set, and analytics are not linked to your account.To understand how the site is used and improve it.

We do not ask for, and ask you not to send, sensitive information such as government ID numbers, health information or payment card details.

3. Cookies

We use two cookies, both first-party and both needed for the site to work:

  • Your session — keeps you signed in. It is removed when you sign out or the session expires.
  • Your return path — when you sign up from a page, remembers that page for up to three days so we can take you back to it after you confirm your email. It is removed when you sign in.

We use no advertising, tracking or third-party cookies, and our analytics set none.

4. How we use information

  • to run the Service: accounts, saved offers, claims, partner perks and reports;
  • to vouch for your startup to a partner when you ask us for a partner perk;
  • to keep the Service and your account secure, and to prevent fraud and misuse of the Curation;
  • to be paid by partners, and to keep accurate financial records;
  • to send service emails, such as confirming your address and security notices;
  • to understand and improve the Service; and
  • to comply with the law and enforce our Terms.

5. Who we share it with

  • Partners and affiliate networks. When you use “Get this offer” you go to the partner's site, and where a commission applies the link carries our random click reference. We do not send partners your email or profile, except that if a perk is delivered as an introduction you asked us to make, we share what the introduction needs (your name, email and startup). Anything you give a partner directly is under its privacy policy. When you use a partner perk we provided, the partner may learn you came through QuxPerks.
  • Service providers that host the Service, store data, and deliver email for us, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing their service to us.
  • Legal and safety. When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of QuxPerks, our users, partners or others.
  • A business transfer. If QuxPerks is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, under this policy's protections.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account, profile and activity: while your account is open, then deleted as described in section 7.
  • Sessions: until they expire or you end them; security events for as long as needed to protect accounts.
  • Claims and commissions: as long as needed to reconcile payments with partners and meet tax and accounting obligations.
  • Analytics: the identifying salt is deleted monthly, after which the stored hashes can no longer be linked to anyone; aggregate statistics may be kept.

7. Your choices and rights

You can view and edit your startup profile, remove saved offers, and see and end your active sessions in your account. You can also ask us, at [email protected], to:

  • give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct it;
  • delete your account and personal information (we may keep what the law or our records require);
  • object to or restrict a use of it.

We will verify the request comes from you and respond within the time the law requires. Depending on where you live — for example in California or the European Economic Area — you may have further rights, including to complain to a data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for exercising them.

8. How we protect it

Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes; connections are encrypted in transit; each startup's data is isolated from every other startup's by the database itself, not just by our code; and partner perk codes are shown only to the member they were granted to. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you as the law requires if a breach affects your information.

9. Where it is stored

Our systems are hosted in United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, your information is transferred there, with the safeguards the law requires.

10. Children

The Service is for people starting or running businesses and is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 to have an account. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when what we collect or how we use it changes, and change the version and date at the top. For a material change we will give notice by email or on the Service before it takes effect.
